VAP for FMCG Distributors & Wholesalers
Distribution software for fast stock and thin margins
High velocity, thin margin, no room for drift.
Distribution punishes sloppy stock control faster than retail does, because the volumes are larger and the margin is thinner. VAP tracks every carton from goods receipt to dispatch against its batch and expiry, converts cases to units without losing cost, and lets your retailers order online against the stock you actually hold in the godown.
What gets in the way
Where fmcg distributors & wholesalers lose money
Near-expiry stock becomes a return
Stock that sits too long comes back from retailers as a claim. Without batch-level visibility you find out at the point it is already a loss.
Case-to-unit maths breaks cost
You buy by the case, sell by the case and the unit, and run schemes on both. If conversions do not carry cost, your margin report is fiction.
Orders arrive on WhatsApp
Retailer orders come as messages and calls, get typed in twice, and go wrong at exactly the volumes where a mistake is expensive.
What you get
Set up for fmcg distributors & wholesalers
Every business on VAP gets the features that trade actually needs — nothing you have to configure around. Here is what a fmcg distribution setup includes.
Godown & multi-location stock
Every godown and van is a location in one ledger. You know what is where, not just what you own.
Batch, lot & expiry
Goods receipts capture lots line by line, with FEFO picking so short-dated stock ships first.
Case, unit and conversion
Buy by the tonne or carton, stock by the case, sell by the piece — conversions carry cost correctly throughout.
MRP per pack size
Each pack size carries its own printed price, captured at the unit you received it in.
Purchase orders & receipts
PO to goods receipt with line- and lot-level capture, supplier price lists and item codes per principal.
Invoices, payments & dues
Invoices, payments and credit notes with a full lifecycle, and outstanding tracked per retailer.
Party model for trade
A retailer who is also a supplier is one party with two functions — different contacts, addresses and terms per function.
Multi-entity & multi-GSTIN
Run several registered firms with separate books, and move stock between them with a proper tax invoice.
In practice
What that looks like on a normal day
Expiry-first dispatch
Picking lists order by expiry rather than arrival, so the carton closest to dating leaves first and claims fall.
Retailer ordering without phone calls
A B2B ordering site built on your live stock means orders arrive typed once, priced correctly, and against what you actually hold.
Closing the month per firm
Each registered entity files on its own books and GSTINs, while you see the whole distribution business consolidated.
Selling online
Your website, on the same stock
Vritti builds the storefront and deploys it on Vritti Cloud, on your own domain. Connecting it to VAP is optional — but when it is connected, there is one catalogue and one inventory instead of two.
A B2B ordering portal
Vritti builds and deploys a retailer-facing ordering site on Next.js and Payload CMS, reading live stock and retailer-specific pricing from VAP.
One record per retailer
The account ordering online is the same party your team invoices, with the same terms, dues and history.
FAQ
FMCG Distribution software — common questions
Does it handle case-to-unit conversions with correct costing?
Yes. Unit-of-measure conversions are part of the inventory model. You can buy by the tonne or carton, stock by the case and sell by the piece, and cost is carried correctly through every conversion so margin stays accurate.
Can it track batch and expiry across multiple godowns?
Yes. Each godown is a location in one inventory ledger, and stock is held per batch with expiry dates captured at goods receipt. FEFO picking dispatches the closest-to-expiry stock first.
Can a retailer that is also a supplier be handled as one account?
Yes. Vritti uses a party model — one identity with multiple functions. The same party can be both a customer and a supplier, with a different contact, address and set of terms for each function.
Can retailers order online instead of by phone?
Yes. Vritti builds and deploys a B2B ordering site reading live stock and pricing from VAP, so orders arrive priced correctly against stock you actually hold.
Does it support multiple firms with different GST registrations?
Yes. Legal entities are a separate dimension from physical locations. Each registered firm keeps its own books, currency, fiscal year and tax registrations, and stock moving between firms raises a proper tax invoice.
